Honoring the Legacy of Pastor and Founder María Luisa Medina
Pastor María Luisa Medina was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States at the age of 25, following God’s call to fulfill her ministry. From a young age, she felt a divine calling, and in 1995, that call was confirmed, coinciding with her marriage to Ángel Medina. Together, they embraced the mission of pastorship, dedicating themselves to serving their community with love and devotion.
The journey of the House of Restoration and Healing began as God entrusted His vision to Pastor María Luisa and her family. In 2005, after years of spiritual preparation, she received the Lord’s directive to establish the ministry, which was officially named later that year. Despite challenges, including the loss of their temple in a 2009 fire, Pastor María Luisa continued to lead with unwavering faith, building a vibrant community rooted in worship and service.
Beyond her pastoral role, Pastor María Luisa was an instrumental figure in the lives of immigrants in Camden through her work as an ESL teacher. Her passion for education and ministry aligned as she empowered individuals to reach their God-given potential.
In 2017, Pastor María Luisa earned a Doctorate in Theology from Texas University of Theology, further deepening her theological knowledge and spiritual leadership. Until her passing in January 2025, she remained committed to teaching biblical truth, guiding souls toward the love and restoration found in Jesus, and helping others fulfill their divine purpose.
Though she is no longer with us, Pastor María Luisa’s legacy lives on. The House of Restoration and Healing Church continues to carry out the vision God placed in her heart, standing firm in faith, love, and service. We honor her life by remaining steadfast in the mission she so passionately led, believing that God’s work through her will continue for generations to come.
